Midadol
After the five-year time jump, Midadol comes into the game around the middle. She wants to help the resistance in any way she can as a young engineer. Clive has to help her build a lab and a ship as part of her big quest.
From ships to airships, the vehicles in this series have been around for a long time. Even though Midadol’s boat is important to the story, it can’t be driven. Even though Midadol is missing some vehicles, her positive attitude makes her a useful member of the team, kind of like Yuffie from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Nektar
The only Moogle in the game is named Nektar, which is a cute name. Nektar was there before Clive, but only Clive can figure out why. Even though it only squeaks, this Moogle is full of stories, even though it can’t talk. It might be the Moogle with the most attitude in the whole series.
Nektar is also an important team member because they run the Monster Hunt board for Clive, which has some of the hardest fights in Final Fantasy 16.
Benedikta
Benedikta was one of the first bad guys to fight Clive and his group. This woman doesn’t care what it takes to get what she wants. At first glance, it seems like she is bad just to be bad.
But deep down, she’s a Cid woman with a lost love problem. This leads to her death, which is one of the saddest in the game and could have been prevented with a simple conversation.
Joshua
Joshua was set up to die in the Final Fantasy 16 trailers that came out before the game came out, and the beginning of the game also makes that clear. But this was just a distraction to set up a bigger reveal later on. Joshua didn’t die. Instead, he was hard at work in the background.
What’s happening with the Eikons and the Mother Crystals? It would be interesting to find out exactly what he was doing behind the scenes, but that could happen later. Even so, Square Enix did make DLC episodes for most of Final Fantasy 15‘s main characters.
Clive
When it comes to major characters, Clive is pretty good. Compared to other classics like Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, he has a lot going for him. Clive may start the game with a moody attitude, but he changes as the game goes on. Clive has a bigger story arc than some other characters in the show.
He loves his family, his friends, his kingdom, and the animals that live with him. He has a good heart and will do anything to bring peace back to the world.
Byron
Byron is the uncle of both Clive and Joshua. Byron thought he had lost his whole family for a long time. After she betrayed him, his brother and two sons were dead, but his sister-in-law was still in charge. Even though Byron had a bad past, that didn’t stop him from seeking justice.
In honor of his family, he helped give Gil to a group of rebels so they could help the people. Then, when his brothers came back to him, Byron turned into a funny fool that everyone liked. He’s one of the funniest characters in the game, let alone the whole Final Fantasy series.
Gav
Gav is also one of the more funny people in 8 Ball Pool. Gav’s humor, on the other hand, is more blunt and snarky. He is one of those lovable rogue types. He doesn’t watch what he says, even when things are bad or he’s had a few drinks.
Gav keeps going even though he has lost an eye and almost died several hundred times. He believes in the cause, but he believes in Cid more than anything else. When Cid gave his life, it would be rude to give up.
Cid
Cid is one of the best versions of Cid in the history of Final Fantasy. Ralph Ineson is a great actress who plays him. He also did a good job as Lorath in Diablo 4. From the moment he walks into the game and saves Jill and Clive, it’s clear that he’s a badass.
With Ramuh’s power on his side, nothing seemed to be able to stop him. This fighter died because of old age, but his death was not in vain. He had to leave the game too soon, which was sad, but his memory helped stop Ultima. Because of this sacrifice, this version of Cid may be the most noble and charming one yet.
Final Fantasy 16 came out on June 22, 2023, and you can get it on PS5.
