IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – Simply hours earlier than Service Staff Worldwide Union (SEIU) staff on the College of Iowa have been set to carry a “Rally for Raises and Truthful Pay,” hospital officers introduced that they have been rising raises from 1.3% to 4% for staff.
“We’re so excited to see that for the primary time in years UIHC is initiating a unit-wide increase above 2.1%. The timing of that is no coincidence. Now we have been organizing and making direct requires raises to pay for years and now the morning of our rally we get this information. It simply goes to indicate that direct, public motion is the important thing to vary. We’re not completed, that is simply the beginning.”
The increase is the best in over 5 years. The group will now flip the rally right into a celebration.
